Here is a link to part 2 of Bill Nye's Optics video. 8 mins. It covers curved lenses, mirrors, refraction, internal reflection, and fiber optics.
Here is a link to Bill Nye's Light and Colour video. It is 6 mins long.
Here is a linkto Bill Nye's 'Eyeball video'. 2:13 long.
Here is a link to a 2 min clip from a Bill Nye video on Optic illusions. Very nice.

Here is a link to a 7 min video on how to find the virtual image of an object in a convex mirror. It is a university lecture, but is lovely, simple and easy to follow for any grade 8 student. In this a student will learn the skills of using two rays to find any images, They will also see an example of how real/virtual, upright/inverted and reduced/enlarged are applied.

Here is a link to 9 min video (part 1) on optics in technology. The first half of this video provides an upbeat, interesting, and informative orientation to the career of optical engineering and science. Examples of real world applications and examples of exciting new technologies are provided - nanomedicine, space telescopes, invisibility, and solar energy. Continued in part 2. Ages 12-13

Here is a link to the Khan Academy. It has 16 videos on the topics of light and optics which are found right at the end of the list in the Physics section. Thing is though, Kahn isn't the best teacher, and these videos may not be clear and focused enough for some grade 8 level learners.
